At the time of writing this, Internet Explorer 8 was released and Microsoft offered free support till 31st December 2009 for issues related to Internet Explorer 8. But the same does not apply for other versions of Internet Explorer. If you are contacting Microsoft or other sources for support then they will ask for the version of Internet Explorer to assist you further. The following steps will let you know the version of Internet Explorer that you are using.
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click on Help menu (Help menu is present in the Menu Bar. If you do not see the Menu bar then press the Alt key from the keyboard).
3. Click on About Internet Explorer.
The version of Internet Explorer will be displayed in the About Internet Explorer dialog box.
