Remove programs from the Start menu in Windows Vista

When you click on the Start button , you will see a list of programs. Some programs might be pinned to the Start menu and some may not be. You may remove both the pinned and unpinned programs from the Start menu by right-clicking on the program and clicking on the Remove from this list.
Removing the programs from the Start menu does not uninstall or remove the program from your computer.
Please note that if the programs list does not display any programs when you click on Start button then check out whether the Store and display a list of recently opened programs option is cleared. If so, you have to check the Store and display a list of recently opened programs.
To reach Store and display a list of recently opened programs, right-click on the Start button and click on Properties. Click on the Start Menu tab. Under Privacy, click to place a check mark to the Store and display a list of recently opened programs check box.
